INCHWA – Indiana Community Health Workers Association
INCHWA is bringing together those in the community who work daily to encourage the health and well-being of their neighbors. Although they are called by many different job titles and roles, CHWs are always a trusted member of their community – sought after sources of information and assistance by those in need. Often unnoticed, they play a vital role in today’s healthcare system. Their work has been documented and proven effective to break down cultural barriers for clients and health care providers. Their ability to provide education and resource assistance has led to improved health outcomes for patients and cost savings to the healthcare provider. INCHWA is uniting those that recognize the importance of Community Health Workers in today’s health care system and giving them a voice to promote their presence and their value as a community that cares. Jay County Drug Prevention Coalition (JCDPC)
The Jay County Drug Prevention Coalition (JCDPC) is part of the statewide network of the Governor’s Commission for a Drug Free Indiana which provides prevention, intervention, and rehabilitation resources. JCDPC is the Local Coordinating Council (LCC) for the community. As a community partner JCDPC supports, advocates, and promotes legal, state, and national efforts to prevent and reduce the harmful effects of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use among youth and adults in Jay County, Indiana. We partner with several organizations in the county, and our members are parents, teachers, healthcare professionals, law enforcement officials, people who have suffered from substance use disorder, business owners, civic activists, people from faith organizations, pastors, and more. We operate with a small staff and a large community network to provide resources and services to the entire county. Learn more
